4YOU Airlines (Warsaw Chopin) has confirmed it has officially abandoned plans to launch scheduled operations later next month after backers, including the Polish Airports State Enterprise (PPL), pulled out.

The carrier, which was backed by Polish tour operator Alfa Star, had planned to offer scheduled flights out of Rzeszow Jasionka and Lodz to Western European and Israeli cities in November.

However, its decision to begin selling tickets for the routes before it had been certified as a scheduled operator (as opposed to a charter carrier as it had been previously) soon ran afoul of the Polish authorities which then launched an investigation into the airline and its operations.

Given the circumstances, the carrier has reportedly been charged with alleged fraudulent activity leading to it suspending operations in early September.
