SW Italia (Milan Malpensa) has secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Italian civil aviation authority (Ente Nazionale per L'aviazione Civile - ENAC) following the recent arrival of its first aircraft, B747-400(F) I-SWIA (msn 29729) formerly 4K-SW800 with parent Silk Way West Airlines (7L, Baku Heydar Aliev International).

As previously reported, the freight specialist is 58% owned by Italian private investors with Silk Way Airlines (ZP, Baku Heydar Aliev International) holding the rest. With its certification now complete, it plans to offer scheduled flights from Milan Malpensa to Hong Kong International via Baku Heydar Aliev International initially before expanding to the United States and Latin America.
