Mauritania Airlines International (Nouakchott) is to pull out of the continental European market later this month ch-aviation schedule data has revealed. Analysis shows the Mauritanian national carrier's twice weekly Nouakchott to Paris CDG via Casablanca Mohamed V service will end on February 22, leaving the field open to Air France (AF, Paris CDG) and Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport).

Following Mauritania's removal from the European Union's Banned Operators' List in May 2013, the carrier first resumed flights to Gran Canaria followed by Paris in December of the same year.

Once MAI has withdrawn from the European market, its network will entail flights to Nouadhibou and Zouerate locally as well as Bamako, Banjul, Brazzaville, Casablanca Mohamed V, Conakry, Cotonou Cadjehoun, Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International and Las Palmas regionally.
