Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) is planning to resume scheduled internal flights using its incoming Dash 8-400 fleet effective April 6. The Bangladeshi national carrier will begin service to Sylhet initially, followed thereafter by Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Jessore, Saidpur, Rajshahi, and Barisal. The Q400 will also be deployed on regional services to Yangon and Kolkata.

"These are considerable positive improvements to the schedule that we will offer to current and new customers flying domestically. In connecting even more cities by air within the country, it will support the growing business and leisure travel markets," Kyle Haywood, Biman's Managing Director and CEO, said.

Biman is dry-leasing SU-SMH (cn 4367) and SU-SMI (cn 4368) from Egypt's Smart Aviation (SME, Cairo International) on 5-year contracts.
