Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) has applied to COHOR, the French authority responsible for the allocation of landing and take off slots at airports in Paris, Nice and Lyon, for Paris Orly slots ahead of a winter debut there France's La Tribune has reported.

Quoting sources familiar with the development, the paper says Ryanair plans to offer daily flights to Faro in Portugal as well as Madrid Barajas beginning this October. Orly is currently a base for rival easyJet (London Luton) and Air France (AF, Paris CDG) LCC subsidiary, Transavia France (TO, Paris Orly).

Earlier this year, Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer David O'Brien indicated his airline would prefer to expand its Paris operations at Paris CDG over Orly claiming the latter to be "full due to constraints in terms of slots."

Currently, Ryanair serves the French capital through Paris Beauvais.
