flybe. (BE, Exeter) has signed a lease agreement with Singapore-based lessor Avation involving one new ATR72-600 which will be delivered toward the end of the year. The turboprop will join four other Avions de Transport Régional (Toulouse Blagnac) aircraft the British carrier plans to operate on behalf of SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup).

“Flybe has established a strong relationship with Avation PLC," Flybe CEO Saad Hammad said. "This helped to secure the new contract for a fifth ATR 72-600 aircraft for expanding our white-label relationship with SAS, Scandinavia’s largest airline."

Beginning in October, Flybe will deploy its ATR72s on flights from Stockholm Arlanda and other Scandinavian capitals, to short-haul destinations in Europe for SAS.
