Air Méditerranée (Lourdes/Tarbes) has extended its hunt for a suitable strategic investor by an additional six months. Having entered into receivership in January of this year, the carrier had been set a June 15 deadline to secure fresh investment.
However, according to Tourmag, given Air Méditerranée's strong financial performance over the past six months and with a full summer itinerary, a French bankruptcy court last week agreed to extend the deadline to January 14, 2016.
CEO Antoine Ferretti has said the added time will allow the carrier to thoroughly scrutinize all submitted proposals as well as any new ones that may arise.
Alongside its Hermes Airlines (Athens) subsidiary, Air Méditerranée operates three A321-100s, two A321-200s, and two B737-500s on scheduled flights throughout Western Europe, the Mediterranean, North and West Africa. It also undertakes ACMI/charter contracts on behalf of other airlines.
