Haifu Airlines (Hefei) has secured preliminary approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) following its establishment earlier this year.

While its operational launch strategy is currently unknown, the Hefei-based carrier will compete with fellow start-up Hefei Airlines (Hefei). The latter is a joint-venture between JoyAir (JR, Xi'an Xianyang), China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) and Xian Aircraft Company (Xi'an Yanliang) parent, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). It plans to operate a trio of MA-60s sourced from JoyAir before acquiring its own aircraft.
