Pegasus Asia (Bishkek) says it rebranding itself as Air Manas (MBB, Bishkek) in a bid to develop a unique independent identity. Launched in 2013, Pegasus Asia is a 49/51 partnership between Turkey's Pegasus Airlines (PC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) and local Kyrgyz charter specialist, Air Manas.

"As a young, start-up airline, at the moment of launch, we decided to enter the market using a strong and recognizable brand name - Pegasus Asia - which belongs to Pegasus Airlines, a strategic partner of Air Manas," the airline said. "Now, however, we believe that we have matured enough to grow and develop further on our own, and have decided to use our own company name and turn it into a strong and reliable trademark."

Despite the change in branding, Pegasus Asia management states the joint-venture with the Turks will remain intact although the Pegasus Asia trademark will be returned to its owner.

Pegasus Asia operates one B737-400 and one B737-800 on scheduled flights to Delhi International, Dushanbe, Ekaterinburg, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen, Moscow Domodedovo, Novosibirsk, and Osh International from its Bishkek hub.
