Blue 1 (Helsinki Vantaa) has ended B717-200 operations as of Saturday, October 31. Research indicates the type's last flight was SK1768 from Prague Václav Havel to Stockholm Arlanda. Three of Blue1's five remaining B717s are destined for Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) with the other two believed to be going to Spain's Volotea (V7, Barcelona El Prat) though this is subject to change.
Earlier this year, Blue1's new owner CityJet (WX, Dublin International) announced plans to re-equip the Finnish carrier with a fleet of eight CRJ900s. Once the Bombardier Aerospace twinjets arrive, they will then be leased out to SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) on a three-year wet-lease contract beginning March of next year.
