Orient Thai Airlines (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) says it has selected Amadeus to be its first Global Distribution System (GDS) partner as it seeks to expand its business in the region.

"We are growing as well, and as we look to expand our routes and carry more travellers to and from Thailand over the next few years, we recognise that the travel agency channel is critical,” Peter Xiong, General Manager of Marketing, Orient Thai Airlines, said. “As the largest global distribution system with an unmatched global network of travel agencies and industry expertise, Amadeus is an ideal partner, and will help us achieve our ambitious growth targets.”

Under the deal, Amadeus will distribute Orient Thai's fares, schedules and availability across global travel agents.

Orient Thai operates seven B737-300s, two B737-400s, four B747-400s, and seven B767-300s on scheduled flights from Bangkok to Nanjing, Chengdu Shuangliu, Chongqing, Xi'an Xianyang, Nanning, Changsha Huanghua, Nanchang International and Hong Kong International, and from Phuket to Nanning, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Xi’an.
