Braathens Regional (Trollhättan) took delivery of its maiden ATR72-600 on Friday, November 6. SE-MKA (cn 1276) was originally destined for MASwings (MY, Kota Kinabalu) where it was to have become 9M-MYE on the Malaysian registry.

The turboprop is the first of five ATR72-600s the Swedish operator committed to as part of an order with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) which includes ten options.

The new ATR72s will enable Braathens Aviation to replace its ageing fleet of twelve Saab 2000s while adding to its existing fleet of five ATR72-500s (all leased out to fellow BRA - Braathens Regional Airlines affiliates Kullaflyg and Gotlandsflyg.)
