BoA Regional (OB, La Paz El Alto) commenced revenue operations on Sunday, December 27 with its maiden flight La Paz El Alto to Uyuni.

Parent firm BoA - Boliviana de Aviación (OB, La Paz El Alto) is investing a total of USD22 million into the carrier which will specialize in serving remote Bolivian towns such as Riberalta, Guayaramerin, Uyuni, Rurrenabaque, Potosí Capitan Nicolas Rojas, Oruro, Yacuiba, Chimoré and Puerto Suárez. BoA Regional is currently in the process of acquiring four CRJ200s the first of which is CP-2851.

Although BoA conceived of the project two years ago, its implementation has been hampered by a lack of funding. Original plans had called for BoA Regional to operate a quartet of MA-60s but these were subsequently abandoned in favour of the Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) twinjets.
