Global SuperTanker Services (GST, Colorado Springs) has acquired N744ST (msn 25308) for conversion into an aerial firefighter. The B747-400(F), formerly in service with Evergreen International Airlines (Marana), is currently at Marana being refitted with an existing pressurized tank system that was installed, but never used, on an ex-Evergreen B747-100(F).
Global SuperTanker Services (GSTS) is a subsidiary of Cyterna Air LLC, a portfolio company of an investment fund managed by private equity firm Alterna Capital Partners.
GSTS, which has purchased all the physical assets and intellectual property-rights related to the SuperTanker except the -100 airframe itself, has re-assembled core members of the former Evergreen Supertanker project team to aide its operations.
