Air France (AF, Paris CDG) has ordered two additional A380-800s, 30 A320-200s/A321-200s, 13 B777-300ERs and five B777-200LRF freighters. It will also lease two additional A321-200s. Air France, in cooperation with private equity firm Apax, is reportedly preparing a takeover bid for Iberia (IB/Madrid). It has also announced that it might be interested to bid for a major stake in Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) if the Italian government changes the conditions of the sale process. Air France has announced various new routes: Lyon-Birmingham: 2x daily CRJ-100 service starting on August 31 operated by Brit Air (DB/Morlaix) Lyon-Hamburg: 2x daily ERJ-145 service starting on October 8 operated by Régional (YS/Nantes) Paramaribo-Cayenne-Fort de France-Point à Pitre-Santo Domingo Las Americas: 2x weekly A320-200 service starting on November 1 Point à Pitre-St. Maarten-Port au Prince-Miami: 3x weekly A320-200 service starting on November 4 It has given up its Paris CDG-Katowice route.
