Air Iceland (Reykjavik Domestic) has begun scheduled Dash 8-400 operations following the arrival of its first of three ex-Air Niugini (PX, Port Moresby) turboprops on February 24.

Research shows TF-FXI (cn 4033) made its commercial debut on Wednesday, March 2 with flights from Reykjavik Domestic to the Icelandic towns of Akureyri and Egilsstadir.

The Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) twinprops are replacing Air Iceland's outgoing fleet of Fokker 50s the first of which, TF-JMM (cn 20214), has already been sold to the Democratic Republic of the Congo's CAA - Compagnie Africaine d'Aviation (Kinshasa N'Dolo).

The Air Iceland Q400s are also used on Reykjavik Keflavik-Aberdeen Dyce flights operated on behalf of parent Icelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik).
