Southern Airways Express (9X, Memphis International) is planning to modify its Hagerstown operations later this summer the carrier has disclosed.

Southern CEO Stan Little told the local press that the carrier will switch its Washington Dulles service to Baltimore International at some point in the near future adding that Baltimore offers cheaper international connectivity than Dulles.

The route is part of a pair of regular scheduled flights to the north Maryland airfield that Southern Airways Express assumed on its absorption of Sun Air Express (Fort Lauderdale International) earlier this year. The other is to Pittsburgh International.

Operations will also switch from the current Piper (twin piston) Navajo to a Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208B.
