Shaheen Air International (Karachi International) is planning to lease seven A319-100s from AerCap with the aircraft set to undergo modifications with Airbus Upgrade Services.

Aside from several cosmetic changes, the aircraft will be reconfigured with 150 seats as well as a suite of systems and avionics upgrades (including ‘ADS-B Out’) to meet forthcoming Air Traffic Management (ATM) regulations. They will also feature an increased maximum take-off weight capability of 75.5 tonnes to suit forthcoming operations.

The embodiments are scheduled from the fourth quarter of 2016.

Shaheen Air operates eight A320-200s, four A330-200s, three A330-300s, and eight B737-400s all of which are leased from a variety of firms which, aside from AerCap, include AAR Aircraft Sales & Leasing, Aergo Capital, Alterna Aviation, and Whitney Leasing.
