Thai Lion Air (SL, Bangkok Don Mueang) is looking at developing longhaul services to destinations as far afield as Oceania airline managing director Darsito Hendroseputro has said.

In an interview with The Bangkok Post, Darsito said the LCC was currently looking at starting Bangkok Don Mueang to Perth International, Australia via Denpasar, Indonesia flights next year, official approvals notwithstanding.

At present, Thai Lion Air offers regular passenger flights to twenty-one cities across Thailand, China, Singapore, Indonesia, and Myanmar using eight B737-800s and thirteen B737-900(ER)s.

Later this year, the Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) subsidiary will enter the Vietnamese market with Hanoi Noi Bai International and Ho Chi Minh City along with Mumbai International and Delhi International in India, Darsito added.
