The Indian Air Force (IFC, Delhi International) has begun operating regular civilian passenger flights in the remote Andaman and Nicobar islands with effect from earlier this month.

According to The Tribune newspaper, the service between Car Nicobar Island and Campbell Bay operates 2x weekly using Do228 aircraft.

The flights were instituted at the behest of Air India (AI, Delhi International) which was recently forced to suspend its service to Car Nicobar after the aircraft used on the route was withdrawn from service.
