Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) has signed deals with three Vietnamese carriers involving forty aircraft during Airbus President and CEO Fabrice Brégier's on-going visit to the country's capital, Hanoi.

In the first instance, Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus for ten more A350-900s. The aircraft will be used on non-stop flights to the United States, beginning with services between Ho Chi Minh City and Los Angeles International. Vietnam Airlines already has four A350-900s in its fleet (two from CIT Aerospace and AerCap) with a further ten of the type on order from Airbus.

In the second instance, Jetstar Pacific (Ho Chi Minh City) has finalized a purchase agreement with Airbus for ten A320-200 (sl)s announced earlier this year as an MOU. The order marks the LCC's first direct purchase from Airbus. Jetstar Pacific is a joint venture between Vietnam Airlines (70%) and the Qantas Group (30%).

In the third instance, VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has placed a firm order with Airbus for ten A321-200 (sl)s and ten A321neo. The purchase adds to the privately-run LCC's existing Airbus order book which now numbers fifty-four A320s and sixty-five A321s.
