ECAIR - Equatorial Congo Airlines (EQR, Brazzaville) has resumed scheduled domestic flights following a three-month hiatus. The Republic of Congo carrier said in a statement that 3x weekly Brazzaville-Pointe Noire flights would commence effective October 3.

Service is on-board one of its two B757-200s, HB-JJD (msn 25807) wet-leased from PrivatAir (Switzerland) (Geneva), while it awaits the return of its B737 fleet. Its two B737-700s are in storage in Belgium: OO-JJH (msn 33791) has been at Brussels National since October 2015 while OO-JJI (msn 33793) has recently been ferried from Prague Václav Havel via Nottingham East Midlands to Ostend following repairs after being damaged in a maintenance hangar fire incident in Prague earlier this year. Both aircraft are on the AOC of Belgian TUI subsidiary Jetairfly (Brussels National). The second ECAir B757-200 (msn 27219) also wet-leased from PrivatAir has likewise been in storage in Brussels since December 2015.

Since late June, the Brazzaville-Pointe Noire route has been flown by Trans Air Congo - TAC (Q8, Pointe Noire) on ECAIR's behalf.
