Fiji Airways (FJ, Nadi) has announced the suspension of B737-800 flights out of Suva Nausori International Airport until remedial runway upgrade works have been effected.

The carrier said it had based its decision on a report filed by consultants earlier this month. As it stands, the document has been forwarded to Airports Fiji Ltd. for review.

Fiji Airways uses the B737s to operate international flights from Suva to Auckland International and Sydney Kingsford Smith. Until such time that runway 10/28 has been upgraded, the carrier will use either Fiji Link (FJA, Nadi) or bus transfers to ferry affected passengers to Nadi for onward transmission to their respective destinations.
