Russian state-owned oil giant Rosneft has decided to split between AeroGeo (Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo) and Skol Aviakompania (CDV, Krasnoyarsk Cheremshanka) the placements of ten DHC-6-400s that it has on order from Viking Air (VKN, Victoria International).

According to Russia's ATO news, Rosneft's aircraft procurement arm, RN-Aircraft (Moscow Vnukovo), will place five of the turboprops with AeroGeo and five with Skol. Thus far, eight Twin Otters have already been delivered to AeroGeo although two are in the process of being transferred to Skol. They, along with the outstanding two aircraft, will be deployed into service from their Krasnoyarsk Cheremshanka base once Skol secures Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) approval to add the type to its AOC.

The turboprops will be used to ferry goods, equipment, and personnel to Rosneft facilities in remote areas of Russia.
