germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn) and TUIfly (Germany) (X3/Hanover) have entered into close merger talks led by their respective owners Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt), Eurowings (EW/Dortmund) and tour operator TUI. The three parties are considering to germanwings and TUIfly into a new subsidiary of Eurowings. Germanwings has announced several new routes for the summer season: Berlin Schönefeld-Bucharest Baneasa: 2x weekly A319-100 service starting on April 26 Cologne/Bonn-Bordeaux: 3x weekly A319-100 service starting on May 1 Cologne/Bonn-Katowice: 3x weekly A319-100 service starting on April 1 (replacing service to Krakow) Cologne/Bonn-Pula: 2x weekly A319-100 service starting on May 1 Cologne/Bonn-Riga: 3x weekly A319-100 service starting on May 2 Dortmund-Zadar: weekly A319-100 service starting on March 30 Dresden-Kerkyra: weekly A319-100 service starting on May 10 Stuttgart-Bucharest Baneasa: 4x weekly A319-100 service starting on March 30 Stuttgart-Katowice: 3x weekly A319-100 service starting on April 1 (replacing service to Krakow) It has withdrawn its Hamburg-Moscow Vnukovo and Hamburg-Zagreb routes and will suspend its Berlin Schönefeld-St. Petersburg route by the end of March.
