Aeromar Airlines (México City International) has taken delivery of its first new-build ATR42-600 following the hand over of XA-UYK in Toulouse Blagnac this past week.
The aircraft is expected to arrive in Mexico later this weekend following a ferry flight routed via Denmark, Iceland, Canada, and the United States.
Aeromar ordered two ATR42-600s and six ATR72-600s from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) last month. It also has options for six additional ATR72-600s.
The Mexican domestic operator will use the turboprops to progressively replace and upgrade its current fleet of four ATR42-300s, nine ATR42-500s, one ATR42-600, and two ATR72-600s.
