Turkmenistan Airlines (T5, Ashgabat) had a B737-800 detained at Paris CDG for failure to pay fines imposed by France’s Authority for the Control of Airport Noise (ACNUSA). The EUR204,000 (USD213,000) fine is for eleven failures between July 2014 and January 2015 related to time slot breaches.

Operating as flight T5405 from Ashgabat, EZ-A017 (msn 43863) was detained on the morning of Friday December 16, 2017. Passengers scheduled to depart Paris for Ashgabat on Friday on the return service T5406 were delayed until after midday on Saturday, given the temporary seizure. Turkmen media reports that the fine was paid partly in cash.

Earlier this year, ACNUSA briefly seized a B737-800 belonging to Enter Air (E4, Warsaw Chopin) citing EUR1.1 million (USD1.2 million) worth of unpaid noise disturbance fines. The aircraft was quickly released after payment of the fine was verified.
