Jet Airways (JAI, Mumbai International) is planning to dry-lease eleven additional B737s around the end of the year India's Business Standard has reported.

Quoting well-placed airline sources, the paper says the aircraft will be used to shore up Jet Airways' domestic operations which are operated by the carrier itself as well as its JetLite (Delhi International) subsidiary. The capacity will be gradually phased in, they said.

At present, Jet Airways' operates two B737-700s, sixty B737-800s, two B737-900s, and four B737-900(ER)s while JetLite operates three B737-700s and five B737-800s.

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, Jet Airways and Jet Lite are India's second and seventh largest carriers by domestic weekly seats with 396,604 (15.47%) and 67,764 (2.64%) respectively. IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi International) controls first place with 39.67% or 1,017,180 seats/week.
