According to a press release, 4x weekly flights from Denpasar to the Tokyo gateway will commence on May 24 using A330-300 widebody aircraft.

The announcement came after the AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) unit secured regulatory approval from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation and Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism earlier this month.

Indonesia AirAsia X currently operates five A320-200s and two A330-300s on flights throughout Indonesia as well as to Penang, Kuala Lumpur International, and Johor Bahru in Malaysia.
