The Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) has announced that it has seized a Skyjet Airlines (M8, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) aircraft, following an inspection into its ownership and tax status.

During an inspection at Pasay domestic airport on March 29, Skyjet representatives were unable to provide documentation proving the ownership of the aircraft, its tax status, and operations.

The press release notes that Magnum Air, Skyjet's owner, has been delisted from the Subic Bay Freeport List of Locators; however, a check of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Locators database shows that Magnum is still listed.

Skyjet/Magnum Air Inc had fifteen days from the date of the inspection to present the documents to the BOC or risk having the craft issued with a Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD). The aircraft is now in the custody of the Aircraft Operations Division of the BOC.

Skyjet has three aircraft in its fleet – BAe 146-200 RP-C3855 (msn 2087), and BAe 146-100s RP-C5255 (msn 1104) and RP-C8538 (msn 1015). It is unclear which aircraft has been seized.
