Cebgo (DG, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) is planning to shift its main hub from the heavily congested Manila Ninoy Aquino International to Cebu, located 600 kilometres away.

Mike Szucs, the Chief Executive Adviser at Cebgo's parent firm Cebu Pacific, told CAPA in an interview the regional specialist's shift to Cebu would free up more coveted Manila slots for use by Cebu Pacific Air (5J, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) for its international operations. As such, Cebgo is planning to end hub operations in Manila in 2018, he said.

Cebgo is in the midst of a fleet renewal plan with its eight ATR72-500s set to be replaced by newer, more densely-configured -600s between now and late 2018. Cebgo plans to take delivery of another four ATR 72-600s by the end of 2017.

The carrier ordered sixteen of type in 2015 with options for a further ten.
