Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has announced that it will defer ten of its twenty-five A350-900 orders, originally set for 2019/2020, by two to three years. At the same time, the Atlanta-based carrier firmed an order for thirty A321ceo, bringing its total ordered of the type to 112.
"We value our longstanding partnership with Airbus and look forward to taking more new A321 aircraft for the benefit of our customers, employees and shareowners," Delta Chief Operating Officer Gil West said in a statement.
Delta plans to deploy the aircraft primarily on domestic routes as it phases out older aircraft over the next few years.
Bloomberg last week reported that Delta would probably defer its A350-900 deliveries as it looked to align its medium-term longhaul demand projection to anticipated capacity.
