The CEO of Mango Airlines (MNO, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) has said that the airline will look at renewing its fleet as its current leases expire beginning 2020. Speaking with African Aerospace, Nick Vlok said that Mango will either stick with newer versions of the B737-800, or consider entirely new aircraft.

At present, Mango operates ten B737-800s on flights connecting South Africa's major cities - Johannesburg served through Johannesburg O.R. Tambo and Johannesburg Lanseria as well as Bloemfontein, Cape Town International, Durban King Shaka, George and Port Elizabeth - with Zanzibar its only international destination.

Vlok suggested the airline might increase frequencies on four of its domestic routes, but is otherwise "quite happy" with current operations.

Mango is the low-cost subsidiary of government-owned South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo). South African media reported that the airline suffered a net loss of ZAR36.9 million (USD2.8 million) in the last financial year.
