Envoy Air (MQ, Dallas/Fort Worth) has announced it will re-establish a crew base at Miami International for pilots and flight attendants in September. The base was closed in late 2015 at the height of a stand-off between the regional carrier's workforce and management over the terms of a revised labour contract.

The carrier said in a statement the move would allow it to better support the thirty daily flights it carries out for American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) from the airfield while positioning itself for future growth.

“We’re delighted to provide our pilots and flight attendants with a fourth crew base in the very near future,” said Dee Temples, Senior Vice President Air Operations. “We know we have many employees from South Florida and this new domicile will give them a much more convenient option.”

Envoy also maintains crew bases at New York La Guardia, Chicago O'Hare, and Dallas/Fort Worth.
