Airest (AEG, Tallinn Lennart Meri) has proffered its sole passenger-configured Saab 340A - ES-LSF (msn 144) - to the Mediterranean market for use on summer flights.

Romania-based air charter broker Total Fly said in a statement it has been awarded an exclusive mandate by the Estonian operator Airest to remarket the turboprop to the Italian and Maltese markets.

“This is an opportunity for Total Fly to offer capacity of a safe and small turboprop aircraft with reduced operational costs in a market where there are a number of possibilities to charter small groups of passengers between airports that are not connected with regular flights for domestic and international travel in the range of approximately 900 km," Davide Strinna, President and CEO of the company, said. "Italian island airports, Croatian airports and Greek airports are an example. Many travel agencies or tour operators can afford this opportunity to stabilize their clients' cost whilst reducing the risk of big investments or empty seat bookings on larger aircraft.”

Featuring 33 seats in an all-economy configuration, the Saab 340 will be positioned to Italy in May, in different airports depending on clients' requirements.
