Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) has signed a firm order contract with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for ten more A321-200 (sl)s. Announced during the 2017 Paris Air Show, the jets will be powered by International Aero Engines AG’s V2500 powerplant and will join Wizz Air’s fleet in 2018 and 2019.

At present, the Hungarian LCC's fleet comprises sixty-four A320-200s and nineteen A321-200s. It also has an order with Airbus for 110 A321neo for delivery from 2019.

"WIZZ’s strategy is to strengthen its position as the CEE market leader and fastest-growing European low-cost carrier," said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air. "Following on from our order two years ago for 110 ultra-efficient Airbus A321neo, these ten additional aircraft will see 140 new aircraft join Wizz Air’s fleet by 2024 and Wizz become an airline over twice as big as today.”
