Barbuda Airways (Barbuda Codrington) has taken another step towards launching after the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) gave parent carrier Caribbean Helicopters (Antigua) the greenlight to add the BN-2 to its AOC's operational specifications.

Once the process is completed, Barbuda Airways aims to offer the two light aircraft for flights between Antigua and Barbuda Codrington.

Barbuda has struggled with connectivity to its sister island after the national government discontinued financial support to Montserrat Airways (5M, Montserrat) in October last year. With the end of subsidization, the carrier could no longer justify running the flights leading to a dearth of connectivity.
