Shree Airlines (N9, Kathmandu) has commenced scheduled fixed-wing operations after securing its uprated Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Nepali Civil Aviation Authority on August 10.

Using its fleet of two CRJ200s and one CRJ700, the carrier will serve Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangarhi locally alongside Mountain flights. CRJ-200 9N-AMA (msn 7798) was briefly grounded at Biratnagar after its proving flight on August 4, 2017, following the airfield's inundation with water brought by heavy rains.

As it stands, Shree Airlines will compete with other operators in the domestic Nepali market namely Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Simrik Airlines, Saurya Airlines, and Nepal Airlines.

According to the Kathmandu Post, Shree Airlines plans to expand into the regional South Asian market during the second stage of its growth plan.

Until now, Shree Airlines had only been licensed to conduct commercial helicopter services with its fleet of six MI-17 Mil Helicopters and four Eurocopter AS350 B3es.
