Air Alderney (London Biggin Hill) has announced the delivery of its first aircraft, a Britten-Norman BN-2 G-BJED (msn 2119). The thirty-six-year-old twinprop was positioned to Alderney on Wednesday, August 23, where it will be added to the Guernsey register as 2-BILL.

The start-up is in the process of completing its certification ahead of its proposed launch later this year.

As previously reported, the States of Alderney has already granted Air Alderney route authorities to conduct scheduled passenger and cargo services from Alderney to Jersey, Cherbourg (France), and Brighton City/Shoreham by Sea.

The island's government has also indicated its willingness to extend limited financial support to the airline to ensure its services are sustainable.
