Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has announced it will begin transatlantic operations out of Indianapolis International Airport during the Summer 2018 season.

The carrier said in a communique that beginning May 24, 2018, it would offer at least 3x weekly direct services to Paris CDG, France, using B767-300(ER) equipment. The route is operated in cooperation with joint venture partner Air France-KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

"Indiana and the Indianapolis metropolitan area has long been an important part of our route network and we are honored that Delta will be the first U.S. carrier to take Indiana nonstop to Europe," Bob Cortelyou, Delta's Senior Vice President – Network Planning, said.

In terms of its current international passenger connectivity, Indianapolis is linked to Cancún (by Delta and Southwest Airlines), San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin (via Southwest), and Toronto Pearson (via Air Canada/Air Georgian). Cargolux offers regular cargo service to Luxembourg and Calgary.
