Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) has announced it is adding a pair of ATR72-600s to its fleet with the maiden aircraft of the type having already been delivered on Friday, September 8.

The first ATR - Avions de Transport Régional equipment in the UK regional specialist's fleet, msn 1448 and 1482 are leased from Nordic Aviation Capital and will be deployed on oil contract charter services between Aberdeen Dyce and Scatsta (Shetland Isles).

“We are increasing our capabilities in the 70-seat market with the introduction of these two brand new ATR 72-600s into the fleet, which are ideally suited for the airports we fly to and environments we operate in," Tony Burgess, Eastern Airways’ Chief Operating Officer, said. "These efficient, modern aircraft help us to fulfil a vital role and provide a long term commitment supporting the oil and gas industry.”

Eastern Airways is also a flybe. (2002) (Exeter) franchisee and operates a fleet of seventeen Jetstream 41s, two E170s, three E145s, and nine Saab 2000s on flights to nineteen destinations across the United Kingdom, France, Hungary, Italy, and the Isle of Man. As part of its ACMI business, two Saab 2000s are operated for BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City).
