Waves (Guernsey) has announced it has been granted an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) by the Guernsey civil aviation regulator, 2-REG.

Waves said in a statement it will shortly commence operations with freight flights first before gradually rolling out passenger services. Eventually, the carrier says it intends to offer affordable, fixed-price flights to Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Northern France, and the South of England using Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan EX equipment.

The start-up will compete with Air Alderney (London Biggin Hill), another carrier looking to serve the regional UK and French market albeit from Alderney and using Britten-Norman BN-2 equipment.
