Air Century (Y2, Santo Domingo La Isabela) has taken delivery of its maiden freighter following the arrival of ATR72-202(F) HI-1000 (msn 483) in the Dominican Republic earlier this week Skyliner Aviation has reported.

As previously noted, the turboprop, believed to be the first of two, will be operated out of Air Century's Santo Domingo La Isabela base under its "Airbox Cargo" virtual carrier brand.

Last month, Air Century's President and Chief Executive Officer Omar Chahin Lama said he expected to deploy the ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprop into service in December on flights ferrying fresh produce to Florida in the United States.

Air Century also operates two Saab 340Bs, a Jetstream 32, and a Gulfstream IIB on scheduled and charter flights throughout the Caribbean, the United States, and to points across Latin America. It expects to invest USD5 million into the acquisition of two fifty-seater jets in 2018 to be used in expanding its regional Caribbean network.
