Blue Panorama Airlines (Rome Fiumicino) will start longhaul flights to China during the 2018 Summer season. Flights from Bologna to the southeastern Chinese city of Nanning will commence on June 15, 2018, with a total of sixty return services to be offered over the ensuing weeks.

According to an airport statement, the agreement concerning the new charter flights was signed at the Italian Embassy in Beijing by AdB CEO, Nazareno Ventola, AdB Aviation Business and Corporate Communication Manager Antonello Bonolis, Blue Panorama Airlines Vice-President Remo Della Porta, and Chinese Tour Operator Phoenix Vice-President Li Jia.

Operations are likely to be onboard Blue Panorama's fleet of three B767-300(ER)s which are currently used to run non-stop flights from points in Italy to the Caribbean as well as East Africa.

It is recalled that as part of its impending takeover by Italian tour operator Gruppo Uvet, the Italian leisure specialist's fleet is likely to see a makeover at some point in the short- to medium-term. Uvet CEO Luca Patanè has, in the past, mentioned the possibility of acquiring B787s.
