The Zimbabwean government has confirmed it is looking to acquire an additional three MA-60s for state-owned national carrier, Air Zimbabwe (UM, Harare International).

Transport and Infrastructure Development Permanent Secretary Machivenyika Mapuranga told The Herald newspaper that government was looking to raise the USD6 million needed to secure the turboprops.

As part of former strongman Robert Mugabe's Look East policy, Air Zimbabwe acquired three of the type from Xian Aircraft Company (Xi'an Yanliang) during the last decade although only one, Z-WPK (msn 303), is still in service. The fifty-two seater is currently deployed on domestic flights connecting Harare International, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls.
