Botswana-based Mack Air (MKB, Maun) is set to take delivery of its first Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208B EX. According to Textron Aviation (Wichita Cessna Aircraft Field), the aircraft, which will arrive in Southern Africa in the middle of next month, is leased to the Kalahari bush specialist by Mauritian lessor, Tuareg Aviation Ltd.

A total of ten Cessna Aircraft Company Caravans will be delivered to Mack Air to provide charter, cargo and logistics services between a network of independently owned bush safari lodges in the popular Okavango Delta and Kalahari Plains regions of Botswana.

The aircraft will also partially replace Mack Air’s existing fleet, which currently includes Grand Caravan turboprops as well as Cessna (single piston) 206 Stationairs, Cessna 210 Centurions, Gippsland GA8 Airvans, and Quest Kodiaks.
