Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) saw weak market response to its recent Request For Proposals (RFP) for the dry-lease of two B737-800s on 72-month contracts, an airline source has told The Daily Observer newspaper.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said only four bids were submitted all of which come from either the Netherlands or Singapore.

"The response is not satisfactory," the source said.

He added that a prior RFP for the wet-lease of two widebody aircraft on eight-month contracts running from February to September 2018, had seen eight proposals sent in. A decision is expected in the coming weeks but only once an evaluation committee has sat on them.
