Cargolux (CV, Luxembourg) and NCA - Nippon Cargo Airlines (KZ, Tokyo Narita) have signed a cooperation agreement covering flights from Luxembourg and Frankfurt Hahn to Tokyo Narita.

According to the agreement, Cargolux will have access to capacity on NCA's flights from Hahn, while in return the Japanese carrier will be available to sell space on Cargolux's new operations from Luxembourg. The carrier plans to operate this service 1x weekly.

"Both airlines consider the agreement as a first step towards a potentially deeper cooperation," Cargolux declared in a statement.

The agreement, which also includes code-sharing on the services, will enter into force from summer 2018 season.

After Cargolux launches flights to Tokyo Narita, Cargolux Italia (C8, Milan Malpensa) will discontinue its services to this airport from Milan Malpensa (1x weekly) and Hong Kong International (2x weekly). The Italian subsidiary will maintain a presence at Osaka Kansai, to where it currently operates from Milan Malpensa (2x weekly) and Hong Kong (3x weekly).

Cargolux has also announced it plans to expand at Komatsu. The airline currently links the city, the seat of heavy machinery maker Komatsu Limited, with Seoul Incheon, Chicago O'Hare, Luxembourg and Zhengzhou, according to the ch-aviation schedules module.
