Bulgaria Air (FB, Sofia) will expand its Milan operations with the addition of service to the northern Italian metropolis's Milan Linate gateway later this month.

According to the airline, it will start a weekly service to Linate from Sofia beginning December 10. This flight, which will run through to the end of the winter season, will complement an existing 2x weekly service to Milan Malpensa which it operates with E190 equipment.

In its marketing, Air Bulgaria has been touting Linate's more convenient location to downtown Milan over Malpensa.

"Linate Airport is in close proximity to Milan - located about 7 km from the city centre and offers many different transportation options," it said. "In this way, travellers can travel much more quickly and easily from the airport to landmarks in Milan and at the same time can save on their budget."
