PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) has accepted bids from DAE Capital and Avolon following the floatation in September of a tender for the dry-lease of up to four (4) narrowbody twin-engined jets on six-year contracts.

The carrier said in its bid evaluation report that it had received ten bids in total, all of which proferred A320 Family aircraft. Of the ten, six were accepted including three A320/321s featuring CFM International engines - DAE: A320-200 msn 2902 and Avolon: A321-200 (sl)s msn 6639 and 6979 - and three A320-200s featuring IAE engines - DAE: msn 3127, 3143, and 5128.

Rejected bids included one IAE-powered A320 - DAE: msn 5367 - and three CFM-powered variants - from DAE: msn 5371 and from Standard Chartered Aviation Finance: msn 4502 and 4541. PIA said these proposals failed to meet its tender delivery deadline of 2Q 2018.

Talks with DAE and Avolon will now take place and there is no guarantee a final contract will be signed with any of the applicants.
